Options after MBBS- India

Today, I was talking to my friend Manoj who has recently become a Doctor from a renowned college “MAMC”, India. And I was talking to him about his future plans which lead to many questions regarding the present situation of students pursuing MBBS and Bachelor of Dental Studies in India. Also, my sister and some of my family member are into this field, so i can completely understand the struggle of first getting a position in a Government college to pursue your graduation, then more struggle for MD, MS and then to get a Job. Its completely fine if you are really passionate and only want to practice medicine or surgery for the rest of your life. Its going to be little hard to crack  the MD or MS exam in first shot but not impossible considering that there is only 3% chance of you getting admission into a government college. And this 3% is including both reserved and general seats.  According to my research, I could find out that there are total of 30,000 seats in the different fields of medicine and surgery including non clinical field and the number of aspiring students appearing was recorded to be around 100,000.  Lets take it fast forward that you have already completed your MBBS or BDS.

What now?

I am  sure that many of you might be interested  in looking for some new options and if you are flexible to try to some new fields, then there are many things that you can try and have a stable and good life.  Some of my friends pursued there masters in Health Hospital Management and are presently working with multinational companies, hospitals and  Health IT. Before, I go into the details of the options that you can puruse, I want to ask you one question.

Do you think that you have some content or knowledge that other Doctors or health specialist does not have? If yes, please be active on social media like instagram, youtube and facebook. There is big need of real doctors sharing the real knowledge in  social media.  The smart phones that you are holding in your hands that use to share your problems with your friends and family is the actual answers to all your problems. Share the positive and informative content and make this world a healthy place.

Want to cut your fat?

Are you tired of being fat? Are you tired of spending thousands of dollars in your diet and fitness programs.

Until now we have been doing research on rats by feeding them different types of diet varying the composition of fats, sugar and carbohydrates and checking the impact on overall metabolism of rats by focusing on one or more genes. But with the changing  sequencing technology and super computing power, the progress will be faster to fight obesity. I am sure a big part of community won`t agree with me but I am just sharing the possible real changes that will happen. This community is the one that says that social media is killing the generation but what happened? Technology is winning and it will always win as it exposes people.

Things are changing and big change is already coming in future. It does not matter if you like it or not. You have been using green tea, fat loss program and everyone knows about it. Now, the time to edit some genes in humans is very near. Are you ready to change your genetic structure? Also, we cannot ignore the fact that the rate of obesity or number of unhealthy population is at the maximum the earth has ever seen. So, its the perfect time to introduce the world with the technology that will edit your GENE or GENES related to your belly fat. Isn`t?

Also, I won`t say that consistency and hard work cannot give you the desired fitness results but only if you are consistent and hard working.

What if you are not consistent and istead you are lazy, not at all determined and needs the quick and easy fix? There will be million of people around the world like this. There is a solution in near future for you guys. And this blog is dedicated to the beautiful lazy people who wants to sit and see the cutting of fat from there belly.

One of the major gene that is linked with your obesity is FTO which is around 456820 bp.  Now I am sure most of you will ask what is 456820bp. Bp is base pair and our human DNA is made up of 3 billion base pairs. Now you will ask what is a base pair? There are 4 base pair i.e., A,G,C and T and our human DNA of 3 billion base pair is made up of only 4 letters [A,G,T,C] in different combinations. Each living being on this earth- humans, dogs, plants. insects, cats everyone has these base pairs but all of them have different number of base pairs.

So, the overall bad weight [fat] will vary according to the types of FTO you have in your DNA i.e., it has been noted that if have two variants, you are expected to have 3kgs more as compared to normal human being. In addition to that, some researchers have found certain regions in your DNA that are linked with obesity and these certain regions contain many gene that have different role in management of overall weight. Well, i am not sure if this will require to edit or omit the complete 456820 genes from your DNA.

What do you think if you could edit these genes completely and never get fat?

Will you do it?

Open Letter to PMO-Electronic Digital Doctor records

To Respected Prime Minister of India,

I want to thank you with utmost respect for the things you are doing for our Nation. You are one of the most hardworking person alive in this world. It is really surprising that our generation could not figure out the importance of what you are doing as you are way more ahead of understanding the need of technological and digital development.

Considering the rise in the Digital economy, I wanted to bring your attention towards the need of ELECTRONIC DIGITAL DOCTOR RECORDS [EDDR]

What do I mean by EDDR?

Today  morning, a collegue of mine gave me a ride to the work place and I asked him about his injury and he told me that he was fine and he don`t need the operation anymore.

And i asked why?

He told me that he visited another doctor and he had different opinion about the operation which is really surprising to note that if you visit different doctors, you will get different opinions. One of them follows the constructive approach who will try to resolve the problem with simple techniques which will take a more time to recover but will be good for a long run. The other kind will follow a destructive approach where doctor is going to cut you open the next day and solve the issue.

Just imagine, that you have a injury in your back, a doctor fix it with basic techniques in a contructive manner whereas other tells you to have a operation which will need to make a cut of 40cm in your back. Which one will you choose?

Being a common citizen of India, I want to propose you an Idea to develop a registered digital platform where all the doctors should be registered before giving the final permission to practice with all there basic records and statistics. So, that people can choose which doctor meets the best requirement according to there comfort zone. I am sure, there must be some ethical reasons of creating a public platform for the doctors. But I belive that with the changing digital economy and globalization, these rules can be changed for the better understanding of the Doctors strategies which will give rise to new kind of research and development in the area of health and science.

With Respect

Nikunj
